As your trekking adventure in the Himalayas concludes, you have one more day of exploration and cultural immersion before returning to Kathmandu. After a final breakfast in the enchanting city of Pokhara, bid farewell to this serene paradise and make your way to the airport. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, embark on a cultural excursion to the medieval villages of Bungamati and Khokana, hidden gems that offer insights into the rich cultural heritage of the Newari community.

Bungamati: Your first stop is Bungamati, a typical medieval Newari village that has preserved its authenticity amidst modernization. Stroll through narrow streets and alleys, immersing yourself in the ambiance of bygone eras. Bungamati is known for its association with the Newari fish-faced deity, Karunamaya, also known as the God of rain. Exploring Bungamati allows you to appreciate the deep connection between spirituality and everyday life in Nepal.

Khokana: Your next destination is the small Newari village of Khokana, with a history dating back to the 7th century, established during the reign of the Licchhavi rulers of Nepal. Khokana has steadfastly maintained its culture and traditions, resisting the influence of modern civilization. One of Khokana's intriguing customs is the absence of freely roaming chickens and the exclusion of garlic planting. The village's adherence to these traditions adds to its mystique and historical significance. As you explore Khokana, you have the opportunity to learn about the ancient stories and customs that have shaped the village's identity.
