Biska Jatra

Biska Jatra is a significant and vibrant festival celebrated in various parts of Nepal, with Bhaktapur being one of the most prominent locations for the festivities. This celebration marks the beginning of the Nepali New Year, which falls in mid-April according to the Bikram Sambat calendar. Biska Jatra is a cultural event of great enthusiasm and importance in Nepal, highlighted by the grand chariot parade. During this procession, large wooden chariots carrying images of deities are joyously pulled through the city's narrow streets by devoted participants. The chariots are intricately decorated, and the entire event is a visually spectacular affair.
