Bagh Bhairav Jatra
Bagh Bhairav Jatra, where devotees gather at Bagh Bhairav Temple located in Kirtipur, a historic tower near Kathmandu. The temple houses the idol of Bagh Bhairav, depicted as a tiger-head deity, symbolizing power and protection. The festival begins with traditional ceremonies and prayers offered to Bagh Bhairav. The idol is adorned with flowers, garlands, and colorful attire as a mark of reverence. The highlight of this procession is kwon as “Jatra”, during which the idol of Bagh Bhairav is carried through the streets of Kirtipur on a khatt (chariot).
