After we arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, a Journey DMC staff will pick us up from the airport and take us to our hotel.

 

Overnight in Kathmandu

On our second day, start your day with breakfast at the hotel then we will explore Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square.

 

Begin your sightseeing tour by visiting Swayambhunath Stupa, a prominent Buddhist site perched atop a hill west of Kathmandu. After Swayambhunath, head to Kathmandu Durbar Square, located in the heart of the city. You can savor traditional Nepali cuisine or try international dishes.

 

Swayambhunath: Swayambhunath Stupa is also known as the Monkey Temple. It is one of the oldest and most significant religious sites in Nepal, attracting both Buddhist pilgrims and tourists. At the heart of Swayambhunath is a large white dome-shaped stupa with eyes painted on all four sides. The stupa is surrounded by numerous smaller shrines, temples, and monastic complexes. Swayambhunath is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

 

Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the heart of Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square holds great historical, cultural, and architectural significance. The square is surrounded by a collection of palaces, temples, courtyards, and other historical buildings, reflecting the rich artistic and architectural traditions of the Newar people. Some of the notable structures within Kathmandu Durbar Square include Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Kumari Ghar, Taleju Temple, and Kal Bhairav Temple which serves as a window into Nepal's rich history and cultural traditions.

 

Patan Durbar Square: Patan Durbar Square is also known as Lalitpur Durbar Square which is another UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the city of Lalitpur. The square is renowned for its remarkable collection of palaces, temples, courtyards, and statues that reflect Newar architectural and artistic traditions. Some of the notable attractions within Patan Durbar Square include Krishna Mandir, Patan Museum, Golden Temple, Bhimsen Temple, and Sundari Chowk. These are just a few examples of the many temples, palaces, and courtyards within Patan Durbar Square.

 

Overnight at Hotel [B]

On the third day of the Everest View Trek, you will start by taking a thrilling 30-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The flight itself is an adventure, as you soar over picturesque landscapes and get a glimpse of the majestic Himalayas. Upon landing in Lukla, you will begin your trek towards Phakding. The trail initially descends through rhododendron and pine forests, following the Dudh Koshi River. The trek to Phakding usually takes around 3 to 4 hours, covering a distance of approximately 9 kilometers. Phakding is situated at an altitude of 2,651 meters and offers a comfortable resting place for trekkers. Here, you can enjoy the serene atmosphere and stunning mountain views, preparing yourself for the days ahead.

On the fourth day of the Everest View Trek, you will continue your trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, a vibrant and bustling town located at an altitude of approximately 3,440 meters. This day involves a moderate but rewarding hike through the beautiful landscapes of the Khumbu region. The trail from Phakding to Namche Bazaar follows the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges along the way. As you trek, you will be surrounded by lush green forests, with occasional glimpses of the towering peaks in the distance. The trail gradually ascends, and you may experience some uphill sections that challenge your stamina. However, the effort is well worth it as you enter the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich biodiversity and stunning mountain vistas. After several hours of trekking, you will reach Namche Bazaar, the commercial and cultural hub of the Everest region. Namche Bazaar is a vibrant town filled with shops, cafes, lodges, and trekking gear stores. It is an ideal place to acclimatize, as you will spend two nights here to adjust to the altitude.

On the fifth day of the Everest View Trek, you will take a well-deserved acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. Acclimatization is crucial to allow your body to adjust to the high altitude and reduce the risk of altitude sickness. You can explore Namche Bazaar and its surroundings as the town offers various attractions and activities to make your acclimatization day enjoyable and fulfilling.

You can start by visiting the Sherpa Museum, which provides insights into the local Sherpa culture, their mountaineering history, and the flora and fauna of the Everest region. It's a great opportunity to deepen your understanding of the region and its people. You may also choose to hike to the nearby villages of Khumjung or Khunde. These villages provide a glimpse into the traditional Sherpa way of life and offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains. In Khumjung, you can visit the famous Khumjung School, established by Sir Edmund Hillary, which supports the education of Sherpa children. Another option is to hike up to the Everest View Hotel, which is renowned for its panoramic views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other Himalayan peaks. It's a perfect spot to capture breathtaking photos and soak in the majestic scenery.

Throughout the day, make sure to hydrate well and take it easy to allow your body to acclimatize properly. It's also a good opportunity to rest and relax before continuing the trek.

Overnight in Namche Bazaar [B]

On the sixth day of the Everest View Trek, you will trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche. This day involves a scenic hike through beautiful landscapes, offering stunning views of the Himalayan peaks and an opportunity to visit the renowned Tengboche Monastery. Leaving Namche Bazaar, the trail initially descends towards the Dudh Koshi River. You will cross suspension bridges and ascend gradually, enjoying the panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and other surrounding peaks. The trail takes you through rhododendron forests, small Sherpa villages, and open meadows, creating a diverse and captivating trekking experience.

After several hours of trekking, you will reach Tengboche, situated at an altitude of approximately 3,867 meters. Tengboche is home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, one of the most significant monasteries in the Khumbu region. The Tengboche Monastery holds great spiritual and cultural importance for the Sherpa community. It provides a serene setting, surrounded by majestic mountains. From Tengboche, you can enjoy breathtaking views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other prominent peaks. The panoramic vistas create a magnificent backdrop for photography and a sense of awe-inspiring beauty. At the end of the day, you will find comfortable accommodation in Tengboche, allowing you to rest and reflect on the day's trekking experiences.

On the seventh day of the Everest View Trek, you will leave Tengboche and make your way to Dingboche. This day involves a scenic trek through the picturesque landscapes of the Everest region, with gradual ascents and stunning mountain views. Leaving Tengboche, the trail descends through lush forests and crosses the Imja Khola (river). The trail to Dingboche offers breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and other majestic Himalayan peaks. The landscape transitions from forests to alpine meadows, adding to the beauty of the journey. Dingboche, located at an altitude of around 4,410 meters, is a charming Sherpa village nestled in the Khumbu Valley. Upon reaching Dingboche, you can enjoy the breathtaking mountain vistas, relax at one of the tea houses or lodges, and explore the village. Dingboche is known for its terraced fields, where locals grow barley, potatoes, and buckwheat.

Dingboche, a renowned destination for trekkers and climbers en route to Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, or Imja Tse, is a picturesque village. Stone walls shield barley, buckwheat, and potatoes from harsh winds and grazing animals in this beautiful locale. We allocated a day in Dingboche for acclimatization, taking day hikes to Nagarjun Hill or Chhukung Valley, offering breathtaking vistas of Makalu, Lhotse, Chalotse, Taboche, and Ama Dablam.

On Day 9 of your Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake and Poon Hill, you will be trekking from Dingboche to Chhukung and climbing Chhukung Ri. Ensure you have all the necessary supplies for the day's trek, including water, snacks, and appropriate clothing. From Dingboche, the trail continues through the picturesque landscapes of the Khumbu region. The trail gradually ascends towards Chhukung, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers. After several hours of trekking, you will reach the village of Chhukung. Chhukung is situated at an altitude of approximately 4,730 meters (15,518 feet) and serves as a base for climbing various peaks in the area. Once you've arrived in Chhukung, you can embark on the climb to Chhukung Ri. Chhukung Ri is a popular viewpoint located at an altitude of around 5,550 meters (18,209 feet). The ascent involves a steep climb, and it's important to take it slow and steady while acclimatizing properly. From the top of Chhukung Ri, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, including Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu. Marvel at the vast Himalayan landscape and savor the sense of achievement. After spending time at the summit of Chhukung Ri and soaking in the views, carefully descend back to Chhukung. Settle into a teahouse or lodge in Chhukung for a comfortable overnight stay.

On Day 10 of your Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake and Poon Hill, you will be crossing the Kongma La pass and trek to Lobuche. Begin your day early in the morning from Chhukung. Have a nutritious breakfast and pack your daypack with essential items such as water, snacks, and appropriate clothing for crossing the Kongma La pass. From Chhukung, the trail gradually ascends towards the Kongma La Pass. The pass is located at an altitude of approximately 5,535 meters (18,159 feet) and offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Once you reach the Kongma La Pass, take a moment to soak in the breathtaking views of peaks like Ama Dablam, Makalu, and the surrounding Himalayan range. Capture memorable photographs and appreciate the sense of accomplishment. After spending some time at the pass, carefully descend towards Lobuche. The trail involves steep sections and rocky terrain, so it's important to be cautious and maintain a steady pace. After several hours of trekking, you will arrive in Lobuche. Lobuche is a small settlement situated at an altitude of around 4,910 meters (16,108 feet). Settle into a teahouse or lodge, relax, and rejuvenate for the next day's trek. Once in Lobuche, it's essential to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude. Take this time to relax, hydrate, and enjoy the beautiful mountain surroundings. On the eleventh day of the Everest View Trek, you will leave Lobuche and make your way to Gorak Shep. This day is one of the most exciting and challenging days of the trek as you journey to the famous Everest Base Camp (EBC). Leaving Lobuche, the trail gradually ascends as you make your way through rocky terrain and glacial moraines. The trek to Gorak Shep offers stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, including Pumori, Nuptse, and Everest.

Upon reaching Gorak Shep, which sits at an altitude of approximately 5,164 meters, you will have a short break before continuing your journey to Everest Base Camp. The trail from Gorak Shep to Everest Base Camp is a memorable adventure, passing through the Khumbu Glacier and its fascinating ice formations. As you approach Everest Base Camp, you will feel a sense of accomplishment and excitement. The base camp itself is a temporary settlement used by climbers during their Everest expeditions. Standing there, surrounded by the towering mountains, you can take in the energy and atmosphere of this legendary place. From Everest Base Camp, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Khumbu Icefall and the spectacular Everest massif. You can also witness the colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind, a symbol of hope and good fortune. After spending some time at Everest Base Camp, you will trek back to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay.

On Day 12 of your Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake and Poon Hill, you will be trekking from Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar, and then returning to Lobuche. Begin your day early in the morning from Gorak Shep. Have a light breakfast and pack your daypack with essential items such as water, snacks, and appropriate clothing for the day's trek. From Gorak Shep, the trail ascends towards Kala Patthar. Kala Patthar is a renowned viewpoint located at an altitude of approximately 5,545 meters (18,192 feet). It offers spectacular panoramic views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, and other majestic peaks of the Everest region. After several hours of trekking, you will arrive back in Lobuche. Settle into a teahouse or lodge, relax, and rejuvenate for the next day's trek. Take this time to rest and reflect on the incredible experience of reaching Kala Patthar and witnessing the breathtaking views. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in Lobuche. Rest well and prepare for the next day's trek as you continue your journey through the Annapurna region.

On Day 13 of your Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake and Poon Hill, you will be trekking from Lobuche to Dzongla. Begin your day with a nutritious breakfast in Lobuche. Ensure you have all the necessary supplies for the day's trek, including water, snacks, and appropriate clothing. From Lobuche, the trail continues through the rugged terrain of the Khumbu region. You'll be surrounded by towering peaks and stunning landscapes as you make your way to Dzongla. After several hours of trekking, you will arrive in Dzongla. Dzongla is a small village situated at an altitude of approximately 4,830 meters (15,850 feet). Settle into a teahouse or lodge, relax, and rejuvenate for the next day's trek. Once you've reached Dzongla, you can take some time to explore the area. Enjoy the serene atmosphere, take in the mountain views, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the region. On Day 14 of your trek to Gokyo via Cho La pass, you will be embarking on a challenging and adventurous journey. Begin your day early in the morning from Dzongla. Have a hearty breakfast and pack your daypack with essential items such as water, snacks, and appropriate clothing for the day's trek. From Dzongla, the trail gradually ascends towards Cho La Pass. The pass is situated at an altitude of approximately 5,420 meters (17,782 feet) and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. The ascent to Cho La Pass can be steep and challenging, involving sections of rocky terrain and possibly snow or ice depending on the season. Once you reach the top of Cho La Pass, take a moment to appreciate the stunning panoramic views of the Everest region, including the towering peaks of Nuptse, Everest, and Lhotse. Capture the beauty of the surrounding Himalayan landscape and savor the accomplishment of crossing the pass. After spending some time at the pass, carefully descend towards Thagnak. The trail will involve rocky and sometimes icy sections, so it's important to be cautious and maintain a steady pace. From Thagnak, you'll continue your trek toward Gokyo. The trail takes you through beautiful landscapes, including the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal. Enjoy the serene surroundings and the sparkling blue lakes of Gokyo. After several hours of trekking, you will arrive in Gokyo. Gokyo is a picturesque village situated at an altitude of around 4,750 meters (15,584 feet). Settle into a teahouse or lodge, relax, and rejuvenate for the next day's adventures.

On Day 15 of your trek to Gokyo, you will have a rest day in Gokyo. It's an opportunity to acclimatize further and explore the beautiful surroundings.  Start your day early in the morning by climbing Gokyo Ri. Gokyo Ri is a viewpoint located at an altitude of approximately 5,357 meters (17,575 feet). The climb involves a steep ascent, but the rewarding panoramic views from the top make it worthwhile. From Gokyo Ri, you'll have spectacular views of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, and other surrounding peaks. Enjoy the breathtaking sunrise over the Himalayas and capture unforgettable photographs. After descending from Gokyo Ri, take some time to explore the 4th and 5th Gokyo Lakes. These serene glacial lakes are located near Gokyo village and are known for their turquoise blue color. Take a peaceful walk around the lakes, soak in the tranquillity of the surroundings, and appreciate the natural beauty of the area. After your climb and exploration, take the rest of the day to relax and rest in Gokyo. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the village, interact with fellow trekkers, and take in the majestic mountain views. This rest day will help you further acclimatize and recharge for the upcoming days of your trek. If you have extra energy and time, you can also consider exploring nearby areas such as the Ngozumpa Glacier, or visiting other viewpoints in the vicinity of Gokyo. The pass is situated at an altitude of approximately 5,360 meters (17,585 feet) and offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks and landscapes. The ascent to Renjo La Pass can be challenging, involving steep sections and rocky terrain. Take it slow and steady, ensuring proper acclimatization and following the guidance of your experienced guide. Once you reach the top of Renjo La Pass, take a moment to enjoy the breathtaking views and capture memorable photographs. After several hours of trekking, you will arrive in Marlung. Marlung is a small village located at a lower altitude compared to Gokyo and the past. Settle into a teahouse or lodge, relax, and rejuvenate for the next day's trek. On Day 17 of your trek from Gokyo, you will be trekking from Marlung to Namche Bazaar. Begin your day with an early start from Marlung. From Marlung, the trail continues through the Lower Everest region. Enjoy the changing landscapes and the picturesque views along the way. Namche Bazaar is a vibrant and bustling town situated at an altitude of approximately 3,440 meters (11,286 feet). It is a popular hub for trekkers and climbers in the Everest region. Once in Namche Bazaar, take some time to explore the town. Visit the local shops, cafes, and markets. You can also visit the Everest View Hotel, which offers stunning panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Settle into a teahouse or lodge in Namche Bazaar for a comfortable overnight stay.

From Namche Bazaar, the trail descends through a series of switchbacks. Enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding mountains and the Dudh Koshi River as you make your way down. After several hours of trekking, you will arrive in Lukla. Lukla is a bustling town and serves as the gateway to the Everest region. Celebrate the successful completion of your trek with your fellow trekkers and the local community. Once in Lukla, you can take some time to rest and relax. On the nineteen day of the Everest Base Camp Short Trek, you will take a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu, marking the final day of your trekking adventure in the Everest region. In the morning, you'll check out from your lodge in Lukla and head to the Lukla Airport. There, you'll board a small aircraft for a thrilling flight back to Kathmandu. As you soar through the mountainous terrain, you can take in the spectacular views of the Himalayas one last time. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you'll be transferred to your hotel in the city. This allows you to relax, reflect on your trekking journey, and enjoy the comforts of Kathmandu. In the remaining time of the day, you can explore the vibrant streets of Kathmandu, visit local markets, and indulge in the rich cultural heritage of the city.

On the twenty days, it's time for your final departure from Kathmandu. The last day morning will be free and near the time of your flight. You will be at the airport within the time to board your flight for the onward trip.
