Following the flight, a six-hour drive takes us to the municipality of Phidim, which serves as the headquarters of the Panchthar District in the Mechi Zone of eastern Nepal. This journey sets the stage for the exploration of the eastern region, offering a glimpse into the diverse landscapes and cultural facets that characterize this part of the country.

The trek commences in Taplejung and progresses through Hangedawa, reaching its culmination in Mitlung Village. En route, the trail winds through several villages, including Asangpati Tole, Gaigode Tole, Panesar Tole, and Pawa village. Today's trek spans approximately five to six hours, tracing the course of the Tamor River from Kurumba Village to Mitlung. Along the way, we traverse through various villages, including Tawa and Sinwa Bazaar, before ascending to Thiwa Village, marking the entry point to the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Project. The trail descends to Chirwa, where we conclude the day's journey and settle in for the night. This segment of the trek offers a blend of riverside landscapes and vibrant local settlements, providing a taste of the diverse terrain and cultural tapestry of the region.

On this day, we continue our trek alongside the Tamor River, navigating through dense forests and cultivated cardamom fields on our way to Tapethok. After a lunch break, we press on to Lelep, where we spend the night. Notably, Lelep serves as the headquarters of the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Project (KCAP). This part of the journey offers trekkers the chance to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the landscape, characterized by lush forests and agricultural terraces, while also experiencing the administrative hub of the conservation area.

Today's trek spans approximately six to seven hours as we trace the Tamor River until we reach Tangchetar. From Tangchetar, our journey continues towards Pass Camp. This leg of the trek involves following the scenic course of the Tamor River and eventually making our way to Pass Camp, where we will likely enjoy picturesque landscapes and the serenity of the wilderness. The trek offers a mix of river views, natural beauty, and the anticipation of reaching the designated Pass Camp for the night.

Today's trek is more physically demanding, requiring six to seven hours of effort as we ascend to higher altitudes, and reaching Lumba Sumba Peak at 5200m. Following this challenging ascent, we then descend to Chaurikharka, where we will spend the night. Our day begins with a descent to the Arun River, followed by an ascent to Num Village. While spending the majority of the day on the road, we embark on a five-hour drive to Khandbari, the district headquarters of Sankhuwasabha. In Khandbari, we catch a bus to Kathmandu via either Dharan or Biratnagar. Alternatively, for those preferring air travel, flights to Kathmandu can be arranged from Tumlingtar airstrip. This marks the conclusion of our remarkable trek through the diverse landscapes and cultural tapestry of the Makalu region.

On this day, we board a brief 30-minute flight back to Kathmandu. During this short journey, we may catch distant views of the snow-clad peaks that we intimately encountered during our trek, providing a final glimpse of the majestic landscapes we explored in the Makalu region.

After an early morning breakfast, your journey to Nepal comes to an end. You will be transferred to the Tribhuwan International Airport for your further journey.
