Saraswati Puja

Saraswati Puja, also known as Basanta Panchami, is a vibrant Hindu festival dedicated to the goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, wisdom, arts, and learning. Celebrated primarily in Nepal, India, and other parts of South Asia, it usually falls in late January or early February, marking the arrival of the spring season. The festival holds immense cultural and educational significance. In some regions, children are initiated into the world of learning on this day, as it’s considered an auspicious time to begin formal education. Saraswati Puja serves as a reminder of the timeless value of knowledge and the pursuit of excellence in all fields of human endeavor. On the occasion of Saraswati Puja in Nepal, there is a beautiful ritual where children write on the walls of Saraswati temples. It is believed that by doing so, they will be blessed with a greater dedication to their studies, as Saraswati is the revered Goddess of knowledge and learning.
