In the afternoon, we have a scheduled meeting with our experienced trekking guide and get acquainted with fellow participants who will share this adventure with you. During this session, you'll receive comprehensive information about the nature of the expedition, details about the necessary equipment, and an introduction to the composition of your trekking team.
After the briefing, we'll return to our hotel for a peaceful and restful night's sleep, preparing ourselves for the exciting and challenging adventure that awaits us in the coming days.

The journey begins with an exhilarating early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Lukla serves as the gateway to the Khumbu region and the entire Everest area. Upon arrival in Lukla, the trek commences eastward into a dense forest along the hillside beneath the Kalo Himal Ridge. This section of the trail may have multiple paths, so staying with the group is advisable. The trek progresses, eventually reaching the destination of Chhutang. The dense forests, challenging terrain, and glimpses of the majestic landscape make this initial part of the trek a captivating introduction to the Khumbu region.

Continuing from Chhutang, the trek unfolds with a gradual ascent, eventually steepening as the trail leads to the crossing of Zatrawala Pass at an elevation of 4600 meters. The challenging climb to the pass offers a rewarding panorama, showcasing the majestic peaks of Numbur Himal, Kongdi Ri, Karyolang Peak, and other surrounding summits. Following the pass, the trail meanders along a level path for approximately two hours before descending steadily to reach Tuli Kharka. The varied landscapes, high-altitude vistas, and the sense of accomplishment enhance the trekking experience in the Khumbu region.

Embarking from Tuli Kharka, our path weaves through a diverse terrain, featuring a combination of uphill and downhill segments amid dense forests adorned with rhododendrons, oak, pine, and juniper trees. Along the journey, trekkers are treated to breathtaking vistas of Mera Peak and the neighboring snow-capped summits. The route involves a steep descent to the Hinku River, followed by a subsequent uphill climb leading to Kothe. Nestled on the western side of the Hinku Valley, Kothe welcomes trekkers with its tranquil wilderness and verdant surroundings, creating a serene atmosphere amidst the Himalayan landscape.

Setting forth from Kothe, our path traces the ridge overlooking the Hinku River, guiding us toward Gondishung. En route, we encounter Lungsumgba Gompa, a monastery with a rich history dating back around 200 years. The monastery showcases impressive rock carvings depicting Mera Peak and its climbing route, exemplifying remarkable rock-carving architecture. Continuing on a relatively gentle trail, we reach Thangnak, a summer grazing area adorned with shops and tea houses, providing a welcoming stop along our trek through the mesmerizing landscapes of the Hinku Valley.

This strategic pause aids in acclimatizing our bodies to the high-altitude environment, enhancing our overall well-being and readiness for the subsequent challenges of the ascent.

Departing from Khare, our journey continues with a short yet technically demanding trek towards Mera Peak Base Camp. The trail involves a gradual ascent over the Mera Glacier, with a steep climb to the glacier's summit. Traversing along the glacier, we reach Mera Peak Base Camp. Upon arrival, our skilled Sherpa team promptly sets up the camp, ensuring all necessary preparations are in place for the upcoming trekking challenges. This strategic approach allows for a smooth transition and optimal readiness as we progress toward the next phases of the expedition.

Exiting the base camp, our route takes us through the challenging terrain, ascending over Mera La Pass. The trek continues along a rocky and frequently snow-covered trail, leading us toward Mera Peak High Camp. Swiftly upon arrival, our experienced Sherpa team efficiently establishes the high camp, conducting essential health checks and ensuring all climbing gear is in optimal condition. Positioned at the high camp, we are treated to breathtaking panoramic views of Everest, Makalu, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Baruntse, and Chamlang, setting the stage for the exhilarating ascent ahead.

Today marks the highly anticipated summit day. Commencing early, well-prepared and acclimatized, we set out with the goal of reaching the summit before noon, avoiding the challenges posed by strong winds later in the day. Our ascent begins around 2 in the morning, preceded by a hearty breakfast. Scaling the glacier and navigating a ridge, we persevere until we reach the pinnacle. At the summit, a breathtaking panorama unfolds, featuring five majestic 8000-meter peaks – Everest (8848m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Makalu (8463m), Kanchenjunga (8586m), along with Nuptse (7855m) and Chamlang (7319m). After relishing our time at Mera Peak's summit, we descended using the same route, returning to Khare for our overnight stay.

Should everything progress smoothly without the need for the reserve day, it can be utilized for a more relaxed trek back. Flexibility in the itinerary allows for adjustments and ensures the safety and well-being of the expedition.

Having successfully reached the summit of Mera Peak, our descent begins as we retrace our steps from Khare, passing through Thangnak, and continuing towards Kothe. The trail descends through the lush sub-tropical forest, adorned with rhododendron, oak, pine, and birch trees. As we gradually lower in altitude, the landscapes transform, and we trek until we reach Kothe. The descent allows us to savor the achievements of our ascent while enjoying the diverse natural beauty along the way. Kothe provides a tranquil setting for our overnight stay.

Departing from Kothe, our trail involves uphill trekking through dense rhododendron forests, leading to the western section of the Hinku Valley and ultimately arriving at Tuli K Harka. The duration of this trek is approximately 6-7 hours. Tuli Kharka offers stunning panoramic views of Mera North, Mera Central, and the south face of Mera Peak. This segment of the journey provides a mix of challenging terrain and breathtaking vistas, allowing trekkers to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the region. After a rewarding day of trekking, we settled in at Tuli Kharka for the night.

On the final day of our trekking adventure, we depart from Tuli Kharka, ascending for the crossing of Zatrawala Pass. Upon reaching the summit of the pass, we commence our descent, eventually arriving back in Lukla. As we conclude this challenging and rewarding journey, the evening is dedicated to celebrating the successful ascent of Mera Peak. This festive moment provides an opportunity for reflection and camaraderie among the trekkers and the support team who contributed to the expedition's success.

Following your challenging mountain expedition, you'll catch an early morning flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arriving in the capital city, you can finally enjoy some well-deserved rest in the comfort of your hotel room. This rest is much-needed after the physical and mental exertion of your journey, providing you with the opportunity to rejuvenate and reflect on the remarkable experiences you've had in the mountains.

After an early morning breakfast, your journey to Nepal comes to an end. You will be transferred to the Tribhuwan International Airport for your further journey.
