On our second day, start your day with breakfast at the hotel then we will explore Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square.
Begin your sightseeing tour by visiting Swayambhunath Stupa, a prominent Buddhist site perched atop a hill west of Kathmandu. After Swayambhunath, head to Kathmandu Durbar Square, located in the heart of the city. You can savor traditional Nepali cuisine or try international dishes.
Swayambhunath: Swayambhunath Stupa is also known as the Monkey Temple. It is one of the oldest and most significant religious sites in Nepal, attracting both Buddhist pilgrims and tourists. At the heart of Swayambhunath is a large white dome-shaped stupa with eyes painted on all four sides. The stupa is surrounded by numerous smaller shrines, temples, and monastic complexes. Swayambhunath is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the heart of Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square holds great historical, cultural, and architectural significance. The square is surrounded by a collection of palaces, temples, courtyards, and other historical buildings, reflecting the rich artistic and architectural traditions of the Newar people. Some of the notable structures within Kathmandu Durbar Square include Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Kumari Ghar, Taleju Temple, and Kal Bhairav Temple which serves as a window into Nepal's rich history and cultural traditions.
Patan Durbar Square: Patan Durbar Square is also known as Lalitpur Durbar Square which is another UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the city of Lalitpur. The square is renowned for its remarkable collection of palaces, temples, courtyards, and statues that reflect Newar architectural and artistic traditions. Some of the notable attractions within Patan Durbar Square include Krishna Mandir, Patan Museum, Golden Temple, Bhimsen Temple, and Sundari Chowk. These are just a few examples of the many temples, palaces, and courtyards within Patan Durbar Square.

On the third day of the Everest View Trek, you will start by taking a thrilling 30-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The flight itself is an adventure, as you soar over picturesque landscapes and get a glimpse of the majestic Himalayas. Upon landing in Lukla, you will begin your trek towards Phakding. The trail initially descends through rhododendron and pine forests, following the Dudh Koshi River. The trek to Phakding usually takes around 3 to 4 hours, covering a distance of approximately 9 kilometers. Phakding is situated at an altitude of 2,651 meters and offers a comfortable resting place for trekkers. Here, you can enjoy the serene atmosphere and stunning mountain views, preparing yourself for the days ahead.

On day 4 of the Everest View Trek, you will continue your trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, a vibrant and bustling town located at an altitude of approximately 3,440 meters. This day involves a moderate but rewarding hike through the beautiful landscapes of the Khumbu region. The trail from Phakding to Namche Bazaar follows the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges along the way. As you trek, you will be surrounded by lush green forests, with occasional glimpses of the towering peaks in the distance. The trail gradually ascends, and you may experience some uphill sections that challenge your stamina. However, the effort is well worth it as you enter the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich biodiversity and stunning mountain vistas. After several hours of trekking, you will reach Namche Bazaar, the commercial and cultural hub of the Everest region. Namche Bazaar is a vibrant town filled with shops, cafes, lodges, and trekking gear stores. It is an ideal place to acclimatize, as you will spend two nights here to adjust to the altitude.

On the fifth day of the Everest View Trek, you will take a well-deserved acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. You can explore Namche Bazaar and its surroundings as the town offers various attractions and activities to make your acclimatization day enjoyable and fulfilling.
You can start by visiting the Sherpa Museum, which provides insights into the local Sherpa culture, their mountaineering history, and the flora and fauna of the Everest region. It's a great opportunity to deepen your understanding of the region and its people. You may also choose to hike to the nearby villages of Khumjung or Khunde. These villages provide a glimpse into the traditional Sherpa way of life and offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains. In Khumjung, you can visit the famous Khumjung School, established by Sir Edmund Hillary, which supports the education of Sherpa children. Another option is to hike up to the Everest View Hotel, which is renowned for its panoramic views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other Himalayan peaks. It's a perfect spot to capture breathtaking photos and soak in the majestic scenery.
Throughout the day, make sure to hydrate well and take it easy to allow your body to acclimatize properly. It's also a good opportunity to rest and relax before continuing the trek.

On Day 06 of your trek, you will be hiking from Namche Bazaar to Phortse Thanga. Leaving Namche Bazaar, you'll start your journey towards Phortse Thanga. The trail initially descends from Namche, taking you through lush forests and crossing several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. As you descend, you'll enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, including Ama Dablam and Thamserku. The trail is well-marked and passes through charming Sherpa villages, offering insights into the local culture and way of life. Eventually, you'll reach Phortse Thanga, a small riverside settlement located at an altitude of around 3,680 meters. The village is surrounded by scenic landscapes and offers a peaceful atmosphere. Phortse Thanga is a common stopover for trekkers heading towards Gokyo or Everest Base Camp. You can take a break here, relax, and enjoy the serenity of the mountains.

On Day 07 of your trek, you will be hiking from Phortse Thanga to Machhermo. Leaving Phortse Thanga, you'll resume your trek toward Machhermo. You'll also pass through yak pastures and traditional Sherpa settlements, where you can witness the local way of life and interact with friendly locals. After several hours of trekking, you'll finally arrive at Machhermo, a quaint village nestled in the heart of the Khumbu region at an altitude of around 4,470 meters. Machhermo is known for its beautiful location and its significance as a stopping point before reaching the famous Gokyo Lakes. In Machhermo, you can rest, recharge, and take in the awe-inspiring mountain scenery. Explore the village, visit the Machhermo Gompa (monastery), and immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the high Himalayas.

On day eight, you will continue your trek from Machhermo to Gokyo. Start your day with a hearty breakfast in Machhermo, preparing yourself for the exciting journey ahead. Begin your trek from Machhermo, following the well-marked trail towards Gokyo. The distance between the two villages is approximately 7 kilometers (4.3 miles). As you ascend, you'll continue to enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and the stunning landscapes of the Everest region. Take your time to appreciate the natural beauty and capture memorable photos along the way. As you approach Gokyo, you'll catch sight of the pristine Gokyo Lakes, a series of turquoise glacial lakes that are a major highlight of the area. Upon reaching Gokyo, find suitable accommodation for your stay. Gokyo is a village situated at an altitude of around 4,800 meters (15,750 feet), offering breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere.

Taking a rest day here will help you adjust and reduce the risk of altitude-related illnesses. Optional activity for the day is hiking to Gokyo RI, which is a popular viewpoint in the region. Gokyo Ri stands at an elevation of about 5,357 meters and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. The hike to Gokyo Ri is challenging but highly rewarding. You'll start early in the morning to make the most of the clear weather and witness the sunrise over the Himalayas. On Day 10 of your trek, you will be hiking from Gokyo to Thagnak. Leaving Gokyo behind, you'll begin your journey toward Thagnak. The trail will take you along the beautiful Ngozumpa Glacier, which is the longest glacier in the Himalayas. As you trek, you'll pass by the mesmerizing turquoise Gokyo Lakes and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains, including Cho Oyu and Everest. As you approach Thagnak, the landscape becomes more rugged, and the vegetation becomes sparse. The views become more dramatic as you enter the high alpine zone. Thagnak is a small settlement located at an altitude of around 4,700 meters. It serves as a resting point for trekkers on their way to Cho La Pass or to the Everest Base Camp via the Gokyo route. Upon reaching Thagnak, you can rest and enjoy the serenity of the high mountain environment. Take in the surrounding views and appreciate the unique geological features of the area. Accommodation options in Thagnak are limited, but teahouses and lodges are available for a comfortable overnight stay. On Day 11 of your trek, you will be crossing the challenging Cho La Pass and trekking from Thagnak to Dzongla. Leaving Thagnak, you'll embark on the challenging journey to cross the renowned Cho La Pass, which stands at an altitude of approximately 5,420 meters. The pass is known for its steep ascent, rocky terrain, and potentially icy conditions, so caution and proper preparation are essential. The trek to Cho La Pass begins with a gradual ascent, and as you gain elevation, the path becomes steeper. Once you reach the top of Cho La Pass, you'll be rewarded with awe-inspiring panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, including Ama Dablam, Cholatse, and Lobuche. Take a moment to appreciate your achievement and capture the breathtaking scenery. After crossing the pass, the trail descends into the valley, leading you to Dzongla. Dzongla, situated at an altitude of around 4,830 meters, is a small Sherpa village nestled in the heart of the Khumbu region. It offers fantastic views of the surrounding peaks and serves as a resting point for trekkers on their way to Everest Base Camp or other destinations in the region. Accommodation options in Dzongla include teahouses and lodges, where you can find a warm meal and comfortable lodging. Rest, recharge, and appreciate the serenity of this high-altitude village.

On Day 12 of your trek, you will be hiking from Dzongla to Lobuche. Leaving Dzongla, you'll continue your journey toward Lobuche. You'll traverse rocky terrain and cross several streams and small wooden bridges along the way. Continuing, the trail gradually ascends towards Lobuche. You'll trek through alpine meadows and pass by stone memorials dedicated to climbers who have lost their lives on Everest and its surrounding peaks. Lobuche, situated at an altitude of approximately 4,910 meters, is a small village that serves as a popular resting point for trekkers heading to Everest Base Camp. The village offers basic teahouses and lodges where you can find accommodation and enjoy a warm meal.

On the thirteenth day of the Trek, you will leave Lobuche and make your way to Gorak Shep. This day is one of the most exciting and challenging days of the trek as you journey to the famous Everest Base Camp (EBC). Leaving Lobuche, the trail gradually ascends as you make your way through rocky terrain and glacial moraines. The trek to Gorak Shep offers stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, including Pumori, Nuptse, and Everest.
Upon reaching Gorak Shep, which sits at an altitude of approximately 5,164 meters, you will have a short break before continuing your journey to Everest Base Camp. The trail from Gorak Shep to Everest Base Camp is a memorable adventure, passing through the Khumbu Glacier and its fascinating ice formations. As you approach Everest Base Camp, you will feel a sense of accomplishment and excitement. The base camp itself is a temporary settlement used by climbers during their Everest expeditions. You'll start early in the morning from Gorak Shep, heading towards Kala Patthar. The trail to Kala Patthar is steep and challenging, but the reward is worth the effort. As you ascend, you'll witness the sunrise casting its golden hues over the majestic peaks, including Mount Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse. Kala Patthar, situated at an altitude of approximately 5,545 meters, offers unparalleled panoramic views of the Everest region.
After spending some time at Kala Patthar, capturing photographs, and absorbing the incredible scenery, you'll begin your descent towards Pheriche. The trail takes you through picturesque landscapes, passing by Lobuche and Dingboche along the way.

As you descend, you'll gradually leave the high-altitude terrain behind and enter into lower elevations.

Upon reaching Lukla, you can celebrate the successful completion of your trek with a sense of accomplishment. Lukla is a lively mountain town and a gateway to the Everest region. It is here that you'll spend your final night in the Khumbu region. In the evening, you can explore the streets of Lukla, interact with fellow trekkers, and perhaps share stories and memories from your trekking adventure.

On the seventeenth day of the Trek, you will take a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu, marking the final day of your trekking adventure in the Everest region. In the morning, you'll check out from your lodge in Lukla and head to the Lukla Airport. There, you'll board a small aircraft for a thrilling flight back to Kathmandu. As you soar through the mountainous terrain, you can take in the spectacular views of the Himalayas one last time. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you'll be transferred to your hotel in the city. This allows you to relax, reflect on your trekking journey, and enjoy the comforts of Kathmandu. In the remaining time of the day, you can explore the vibrant streets of Kathmandu, visit local markets, and indulge in the rich cultural heritage of the city.

As your Nepalese adventure concludes, ensure you arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight departure.
