Kathmandu-Bandipur-Pokhara-Lumbini-Chitwan-Nagarkot Tour

On our second day, start your day with breakfast at the hotel then we will explore Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square.

Begin your sightseeing tour by visiting Swayambhunath Stupa, a prominent Buddhist site perched atop a hill west of Kathmandu. After Swayambhunath, head to Kathmandu Durbar Square, located in the heart of the city.

Swayambhunath: Swayambhunath Stupa is also known as the Monkey Temple. It is one of the oldest and most significant religious sites in Nepal, attracting both Buddhist pilgrims and tourists. At the heart of Swayambhunath is a large white dome-shaped stupa with eyes painted on all four sides. The stupa is surrounded by numerous smaller shrines, temples, and monastic complexes. Swayambhunath is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: Kathmandu Durbar Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the heart of Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square holds great historical, cultural, and architectural significance. The square is surrounded by a collection of palaces, temples, courtyards, and other historical buildings, reflecting the rich artistic and architectural traditions of the Newar people. Some of the notable structures within Kathmandu Durbar Square include Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Kumari Ghar, Taleju Temple, and Kal Bhairav Temple which serves as a window into Nepal's rich history and cultural traditions.

Patan Durbar Square: Patan Durbar Square is also known as Lalitpur Durbar Square which is another UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the city of Lalitpur. The square is renowned for its remarkable collection of palaces, temples, courtyards, and statues that reflect Newar architectural and artistic traditions. Some of the notable attractions within Patan Durbar Square include Krishna Mandir, Patan Museum, Golden Temple, Bhimsen Temple, and Sundari Chowk. These are just a few examples of the many temples, palaces, and courtyards within Patan Durbar Square.

The third day starts with moving to Bandipur. After breakfast, you will be taken on a road trip to Bandipur. Bandipur is 148km from Kathmandu it will take around 4-5 hours to reach Bandipur from Kathmandu, depending on the road conditions. Enjoy the scenic drive as you pass through beautiful countryside landscapes, terraced fields, and traditional villages.

Bandipur: Bandipur is a hilltop settlement and a rural municipality in Tanahun District. Bandipur is primarily known for its preserved old home culture atmosphere. The Village area is lively with old houses and friendly people. Take a leisurely walk through the narrow, cobbled streets lined with traditional Newari houses adorned with intricately carved windows and doors. The bazaar is known for its well-preserved architecture and offers a glimpse into the town's rich cultural heritage.

After breakfast, at the hotel, we will be starting our sixth day by riding to Pokhara. Pokhara is 80 km away from Bandipur which will take 3 hours from Bandipur to Pokhara. As you drive along the Prithvi Highway, enjoy the breathtaking views of the valleys, terraced fields, and the Trishuli River. Once you reach Pokhara, you can check into your hotel and take a rest.

On the fifth day, you have a full day to explore the beautiful city of Pokhara and its surrounding attractions. Pokhara offers a wide range of sightseeing options, adventure activities, and cultural experiences.

You can experience panoramic views of the Himalayas and Early sunrise from Sarangkot.

Sarangkot: Sarangkot is a scenic hilltop located near Pokhara, Nepal. It is a popular destination known for its panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range, including the Annapurna massif and Machhapuchhare Peak. Sarangkot is renowned for its stunning sunrise and sunset views. Many visitors wake up early in the morning to make the ascent to Sarangkot, as it offers a mesmerizing spectacle as the first rays of the sun illuminate the Himalayan peaks. 

Here some popular attractions we are visiting include Tal Barahi Temple, David’s Fall, Gupteshwor Mahadev, and Bindabasini Temple.

Tal Barahi: Tal Barahi Temple is also known as the Barahi Temple which is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga, specifically the deity Barahi, and a boar-headed incarnation of Durga. The temple is situated on a small island in the middle of Phewa Lake. To reach the temple, you can hire a boat from the lakeside area of Pokhara. It is a short boat ride to the island, and you can enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake and the surrounding mountains during the journey.

David’s Fall: Davis Falls is also known as Devi's Fall which is a popular tourist attraction located in Pokhara, Nepal. It is a unique waterfall that flows into an underground tunnel, creating an impressive sight. Davis Falls is named after a Swiss national named David who tragically drowned in the waterfall's turbulent waters. It is also known as Devi's Fall, referring to the Hindu goddess Devi.

Gupteshwor Mahadev: Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave is a significant religious and tourist site located in Pokhara. It is situated near Davis Falls and is often visited in conjunction with the waterfall. Gupteshwor Mahadev is a limestone cave that holds great religious importance for Hindus.

Bindabasini Temple: Bindabasini Temple is a popular religious site located in Pokhara. It is one of the oldest and most revered temples in the city, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga. It is situated on a small hilltop in the old bazaar area of Pokhara. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga, who is considered a fierce manifestation of divine feminine energy. Devotees worship the deity as a symbol of power, protection, and fertility.

On the fifth day, you have a full day to explore the beautiful city of Pokhara and its surrounding attractions. Here some popular attractions we are visiting include  Peace Pagoda and the International Mountain Museum.

Peace Pagoda: The World Peace Pagoda is also known as the Shanti Stupa which is a prominent Buddhist monument located in Pokhara. It is a symbol of peace and unity and attracts both locals and tourists seeking tranquillity and panoramic views of the city and the surrounding mountains. Purpose and Significance: The pagoda was built to promote peace and harmony in the world.

International Mountain Museum: The International Mountain Museum (IMM) is a popular tourist attraction located in Pokhara, Nepal. It is dedicated to showcasing the culture, history, and biodiversity of the world's mountains and the people who inhabit them. The museum provides valuable information about the various mountain ranges and peaks around the globe, including the Himalayas, which are a prominent feature in Nepal.

On our seventh day, we will be driving to Lumbini. Lumbini is 220km away from Pokhara it will take you around 7 hours to reach Lumbini from Pokhara, depending on traffic and road conditions. Enjoy the scenic landscapes of Nepal as you make your way towards Lumbini. Once you reach Lumbini, check in to your hotel and freshen up.

After breakfast, we will drive to the ruins of ancient Kapilvastu, Tilaurakot where Gautam Buddha lived 29 years until renunciation. There we will visit the Maya Devi temple, Asoka Pillar, and Lumbini Museum.

Maya Devi Temple: Explore the Maya Devi Temple, which marks the exact spot where Lord Buddha was born. Inside the temple, you can see the marker stone and the revered Bodhi Tree. Take some time for reflection and meditation in this sacred place.

Asoka Pillar: Near the Maya Devi Temple, you'll find the Asoka Pillar, an important historical artefact erected by Emperor Asoka to commemorate his visit to Lumbini. Admire the inscriptions on the pillar and learn about their significance.

Lumbini Museum: Head to the Lumbini Museum, located within the Sacred Garden. The museum houses a collection of artefacts, sculptures, and exhibits related to Buddhism and the history of Lumbini.

Today you will be driving to Chitwan. Chitwan is 159km from Lumbini which takes around 5 hours depending on road conditions. Once you reach Chitwan you will be welcomed by the welcome drink in the Hotel and in the evening you will end your day with some Tharu cultural program.

On the tenth day after breakfast, you will be doing a full day sightseeing in Chitwan where we will do a Jungle safari at Chitwan National Park. 

Jungle Safari at Chitwan National Park:  Start your day early with a thrilling jungle safari. You can choose a Jeep safari. With the help of experienced guides, venture deep into the park's wilderness, keeping your eyes peeled for wildlife sightings. You can observe the majestic one-horned rhinoceros, and encounter deer, monkeys, and a plethora of bird species. The morning hours offer a higher chance of spotting wildlife, as the animals are more active during this time. Take a break from the wilderness and visit the Elephant Breeding Center within the park. Learn about the conservation efforts for Asian elephants, observe baby elephants up close, and gain insights into their lifecycle and the challenges they face. This is a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of these magnificent creatures.

Not only that you can observe the ethnic local tribe people by visiting local Tharu villages in Chitwan.

Early Morning you will enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel in Chitwan. After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Chitwan and prepare for the drive to Nagarkot. The drive from Chitwan to Nagarkot is 205 km which will take approximately 7-8 hours, depending on the traffic and road conditions. Nagarkot is a hill station known for its panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range, including Mount Everest on clear days.

Nagarkot: Nagarkot is a picture hill station located about 32 kilometres east of Kathmandu, Nepal. Situated at an elevation of 2,195 meters (7,201 feet), it offers stunning panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range, including some of the world's highest peaks like Mount Everest, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, and Ganesh Himal. Nagarkot is known for its breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and photographers.

On the twelve-day early Morning, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast, check out from your hotel and prepare for the drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square: Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a historic site and UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Bhaktapur, Nepal. It is one of the three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley, the other two being Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is known for its well-preserved ancient architecture, exquisite wood carvings, and rich cultural heritage. Some notable landmarks to visit include the Nyatapola Temple, Bhairavnath Temple, and the 55 Window Palace.

After exploring Bhaktapur Durbar Square you will be going to visit Khokana and Bungamati which has a rich history and cultural heritage, and it is renowned for its ancient temples, palaces, and traditional Newari architecture. The distance between Bhaktapur and Khokana is 17.4km which will take around 45 min depending on road conditions.

Khokana: Khokana is 11.5 km away from Kathmandu which is around 50 min from Kathmandu. Khokana is known for its unique mustard oil extraction process and well-preserved Newari architecture. Explore the narrow streets, visit the local temples, and witness the traditional lifestyle of the villagers. People of Khokana do not celebrate Dashain because they choose the jatra. After all, Rudrayani Devi was the guardian goddess of the city and her festival was more important to them. Here you will be visiting an old traditional Mustard oil manufacturing mill.

After Khokana we will head to Bungmati which is a 20-minute walk from Khokana through paddy fields and is full of Newari architecture houses.

Bungmati: Bungmati is famous for its traditional handicrafts, especially woodcarving. Visit the Rato Machhindranath Temple, one of the oldest and most revered temples in the area. Explore the village observe the skilled artisans at work and see the local lifestyles.

On the way to Bungamati and Khokana, you can also visit the Tibetan refugee camp of Ekantakuna where you can see the skills of making Tibetan carpets by Tibetan women as well.

On the last day, you will be going home. Until then you can enjoy the mesmerizing sunrise view of Nagarkot. Departure to the international airport. It is important to reach the airport 3 hours before your flight time.
