Punakha Tshechu
The Punakha Tshechu is one of the most renowned and widely celebrated religious festivals in Bhutan. It takes place in the historic Punakha Dzong, a fortress and monastery located in Bhutan's Punakha district. The festival is famous for its vibrant mask dances, religious rituals, and cultural displays. Punakha Dzong, situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers in the Punakha Valley, is a significant religious and administrative centre in Bhutan. The festival usually occurs in late February or early March, following the Bhutanese lunar calendar, with specific dates varying from year to year. This festival is celebrated from 9th March 2025 to 11th March 2025.
