Holi

Holi, one of the most famous and widely celebrated festivals in Nepal, India, and other countries with Hindu communities, is known for its colorful and lively celebrations. In Nepal, Holi usually falls on the full moon day in the Nepali month of Fagu, corresponding to March in the Gregorian calendar. It marks the transition from the dry season to the arrival of the monsoon, symbolizing renewal and change. Holi is often referred to as the "Festival of Colors" because of the playful traditions associated with it. People of all ages come together to celebrate by throwing colored powders, water balloons, and colored water at each other, symbolizing the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil.
